Q- What does testing cost?
A- Testing is free.
Q- What is OraSure?
A- OraSure is an HIV antibody mouth swab test. It requires up to two weeks for results.
Q- What is OraQuick Advance?
A- OraQuick Advance is an HIV antibody test that requires a tiny amount of blood drawn from the finger tip.
Q- Why should I get tested?
A- Knowing your status protects you and others. If you are positive, you can get the assistance needed to help you stay healthy.
Testing
The AIDS Fund uses both OraQuick Advance and OraSure HIV antibody tests. OraQuick can be done using a small amount of blood drawn from the finger while OraSure is used for confirmatory testing. The AIDS Fund staff is trained in both tests and incorporates HIV testing as part of their prevention program.
Testing services can be scheduled at our offices as follows:
Monday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuesday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Wednesday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Thursday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The Norfolk office offers evening hours on Monday and Wednesday until 8:00 pm.

The AIDS Fund also hosts periodic testing and education events throughout Hampton Roads. Our mobile testing unit is available for community events.
